  • Description:
    Market-leading manufacturer of medical capital equipment seeks a highly successful District Sales Manager (DSM) to oversee sales force in the Capital District market. This district covers all of the acute-care health care Facilities (Hospitals), sub-acute (clinics) and physicians in the MD/DC/VA/DE district.  The ideal location is either the Baltimore or Washington, DC metro areas, but the candidate can live anywhere in the region.

    Duties include hiring, training, motivating, and supporting a sales team comprised of approximately 8 sales personnel (Territory Managers and Clinical Consultants). The products (capital equipment) are designed to treat the various number of diabetes management issues that affect over 30 million patients, and cost over $237 BILLION a year to treat.  
    This position requires the DSM to possess a more developed awareness of budgets, reimbursements, and supply chain issues. The District Sales Manager will become personally involved in all major accounts, requiring a substantial amount of time spent in the field.

    The total income for this position should approximate $230,000 @ plan, based upon a salary ranging from$140,000 - $150,000. An un-capped incentive plan rewards overachievement. Expenses, benefits, and car allowance are also included.

  • Requirements:
    The ideal candidate will have a minimum of six (6) years of medical, pharmaceutical, or other healthcare-related sales, with a minimum of two (2) years of documented success as a Sales Manager in the medical device or pharma fields. Experience in the Diabetes Disease State is key and highly preferable. Pharmaceutical sales management experience will be considered. Substantial experience in either product management and/or sales training may be considered in lieu of some sales management.
    The candidate with strong insight and experience in the capital equipment area, including P&L responsibilities, is highly preferred.

    A Bachelor's Degree is required.
