    National Health Plan serving Government-eligible members seeks an experienced Primary Care Physician (PCP) to serve on the panel of participating physicians (primary and specialists) in a Western North Carolina region.

    This role will be as an Outpatient-only primary care provider on an integrated BH/Clinical team delivering care to complex patients.
    The chief responsibility will be providing Internal Medicine/Family Practice Services to patients. This venture will eventually be comprised of a practice totaling nine physicians (target date of January, 2020) The PCP will be the most senior person on-site.
     
    Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: 
     
    Provides medical patient care by interviewing, examining, and treating clinical patients. 
    Educates patients and families on wellness, prevention and early detection. 
    Provides referrals based on examination and patient needs. 
    Participates in quality improvement, management, continuing education, and patient care programs. 
    Assists in the resolution of complaints, requests, and inquiries from patients. 
    Maintains confidentiality of all patient information according to federal guidelines and regulations. 
    Completes medical records (EMR) documentation daily. 
    Covers night calls as needed. 

    The position provides a competitive base salary (corporate policy doesn't permit the publication of the actual dollar range) commensurate with experience, plus benefits. Relocation assistance is available.
     

  • Requirements:
    <span 13px;"="">Candidate must possess a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) Degree, and be Board Certified in Internal Medicine.

    This position will be best filled by a PCP who has treated a variety of patients with different insurance coverages (government-assisted). Strong diagnostic skills, along with outstanding written and verbal communications skills are crucial. A minimum of Five (5) Years of practice experience is required.

    Among the regulatory requirements are:

    Requires a license in the State of North Carolina.
    Requires current unrestricted medical licensure in applicable state(s) and board eligibility or board certification. 
    DEA license required.
